Q: Do I need to register to make a donation?
A: No, you can make a donation without registering. However, registering allows you to create your own projects, leave comments on the site and give efficiently by adding Gift Aid to your donation.

Q: What do I need to start a project and begin receiving donations?
A: You need a valid email address and you need to register. That's it. Why not start a project right now.

A: Please click here to reset your password.

Q: I have encountered an issue when using the site.
A: Please click here to let us know about the issue.

Q: Can I trust that the listed projects represent genuine needs?
A: Every project is reviewed by Church staff who will publish it only if they are satisfied that the need is genuine and the amount requested appropriate.

Q: Is my whole donation given to the project beneficiary?
A: Your donation, minus any payment provider fees, is given in full to the project beneficiary.

Q: When does my donation reach the beneficiary?
A: Your donation is sent to the beneficiary immediately and they are notified of it. This website does not hold onto any donations.

Q: Are my donations anonymous?
A: Lifted Loads will not disclose the identity of the donor or the beneficiary at the point of donation. However, for legal and compliance purposes our payment providers will display additional details (including account reference, name or email) for any completed transactions on their account summary pages. So, in some cases a donor would be able to see to whom the donation was sent and a beneficiary would be able to see who the donation came from.

Q: Are the projects I create anonymous?
A: This website will never display personal details of project creators or beneficiaries. However, some account details of the beneficiary may be disclosed to the donor by our payment providers as part of payment confirmation.

Q: I have created a project, but I don't see it listed on the site.
A: When the project is first created it is in a Draft state. You then have to Submit it from My Dashboard so that it can be reviewed by the Church representatives. If you have submitted a project and have not heard back from anyone for more than two weeks then please let us know.

Q: How are submitted project reviewed?
A: The review of submitted projects is done by select representatives from your Church. It's their job to establish that the need is real and the amount asked appropriate. While this process may not be perfect it is there to prevent abuse and give confidence to potential donors that their donations will be going where they are needed.

Q: Why is there a "Giving not allowed" message on some projects?
A: Giving is not allowed on projects that you have created or that you are a beneficiary of.

Q: Can the project beneficiary claim Gift Aid on my donation?

Please speak to your legal or tax adviser for advice in your specific circumstances.
